And this time with soap!! Finally, I get to smell good! And it all happened yesterday!
Here are some more pictures that Mommy and Daddy took in the past few days.
Daddy said my hearing and eyesight are beginning to function, and therefore, I've been naughty lately. Daddy said I always want someone to talk to me. Although it's true, I do not understand why is it an issue to him. Not only I always want to hear someone talking to me, I always want someone to hold me too! Don't they know that it is very lonely sleeping in that stupid tiny bassinet, while they get to sleep in a Queen-size bed?
We had quite a few visitors yesterday! First, Aunt Juanita and Aunt Peggy visited me, and brought me a lot of new clothes, food for Daddy, and magazines for Mommy. Thank you so much!
Then, Uncle Kevan and Aunt Laurie, Megan, and Nathan also visited us, and brought me a very nice outfit and a photo frame too! Below is a photo Uncle Kevan holding me, along with his family.
Meanwhile, backtrack a few more days to Thanksgiving, Mommy and Daddy caught me rolling over all by myself by accident! I don't understand why they were so excited when they saw me rolling over. Sometimes, it's a relatively easy move for me. No big deal. But sometimes when I'm tired, I just don't feel like moving, nor rolling, whatsoever!
So today, Daddy decided to put me on my tummy, and videotape me rolling over. Well, unfortunately for me, I was not in the mood for any aerobics today! Sadly, it didn't appear that I could get away from it... and the end-result is what you will get to see below...
This morning, we also went to see Mommy's doctor. This time, I was fully awake when I arrived at the Doctor's office. I even got a chance to say 'hello' to all the nurses and Dr. Chen. Dr. Chen said Mommy's wound is healing perfectly, and Mommy now only needs to visit Dr. Chen once every 2 weeks! However, Dr. Chen still warns that a C-section is still a major surgery, and suggested us to give it more time for Mommy to fully recover.
Later today, both Grandmas visited me, and both brought plenty of food! The Grandmas stayed for dinner, but I was already sleeping when dinner rolled around. Below is a video showing how Grandma attempted to wake me up (the nice way) from my afternoon nap today. Grandma has been telling Daddy that she was not the only one who was guilty of waking me up a week ago (See here), and she wants Daddy to tell me to make note of it in this blog. Well, considered it done!
Below is a spreadsheet table desgined to keep track of my milestones. I will also create a shortcut on the sidebar (to the right of this page) so that this list is easily accessible. If applicable, I will also link specific Milestone to a post on this blog. Simply click on the Milestone for more details.
Yeah... it's only today that I get to take a first bath! Although Mommy has been sponge bathing me in the past few weeks. It took that umbilical cord thingy forever to come off my belly button. Then, there were still some 'spots' on my clothes near the belly button area. So the Doctor told Mommy and Daddy to wait a few days before bathing me last time.
Well, I just couldn't stand it anymore today! I decided to pee all over myself when Daddy was changing my diaper this afternoon. Which prompted Mommy and Daddy to entertain the thought of giving me a bath. And it worked! And here is how it went. You can see that I fairly enjoyed the warm water. I was a little disappointed with Daddy's technique, but considering it was his first time giving an infant a bath, I'd let him slide this time!
Below is a picture of me wrapped in a Hermes towel. This Hermes towel is a gift from Chloe and Rachel. Thanks, girls! It is very soft and comfy... just like my skin!
Finally, here's a beautiful picture of Grandma and Myself, taken right after my bath. You can tell that I was so mellow and happy, feeling clean and fresh!
I had a 5 hour interval, from feeding to feeding last night! It means that Mommy and Daddy yielded at least 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep, assuming that they fell asleep immediately after I did! I'll see if I can repeat this tonight!
Grandma (Tong) arrived early this afternoon. She brought over some Turkey, and dessert from their Thanksgiving dinner last night. Meanwhile, I have been a very good boy, minding my own business. Eat, Sleep, Pee, Fart, and Poop.
At around 5:30pm, Uncle Joseph and his newly wed wife, Aunt Annie came to visit! They just got married this past weekend, and they are already here to visit me! I must be important!
They both played with me for a while, and then they had to leave without joining us for dinner.
Below are some pictures that Daddy took today. Those 'head shots' of mine were taken early this morning when I was really awake! Do I look fat in those pictures? Please let me know what you think!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Yeah, it's a day late only because I ate too much Turkey last night and fell asleep... Not! Actually, it was more like I was a bit naughty last night and Daddy was spending most of the evening taking care of me.
But it was still a very fun Thanksgiving! Grandma, Aunt Phoebe, and Uncle Chris all came to have dinner with us! Grandma also brought me a very nice Thanksgiving card, declaring that I'm cuddly and cute... making this the joyest Thanksgiving ever! I certainly took the spotlight last night! I was even allowed to join everyone at the dining table for some family conversation! There's no denying that I'm all grown up now!
As always, I spent the most time inside Uncle Chris' arms, for the most of the afternoon. Aunt Phoebe prepared all the dishes last night for my first ever Thanksgiving dinner! According to Daddy, the food taste good!
But I think the highlight of the night has to be my first ever picture with Mommy and Daddy together! You can tell that I was a bit nervous... only because it was Uncle Chris who was holding the camera. Otherwise, I would have cracked a smile! Anyway, nice picture, uh?
Besides my first picture with Mommy and Daddy, I also took my first picture with Mickey and Minnie.
And finally, the rest of my first Thanksgiving photos are here...

But I only get that commission if you start your shopping from that Search Box to the right, every time! There is no limit on how much I can get. So, shop on!
My goal is to save/earn some money to subsidize my purchase on toys that I want... when I grow up!
But of course, if you prefer to just buy me the toys directly, please shoot me an email for further discussions!
The same routine happened this morning. My blood sample was taken. And this afternoon, Dr. Kim called Daddy to tell him that the numbers from the blood test were lower than yesterday's test, which is a good sign. It means that there's no big concern for now. Dr. Kim told Daddy to just monitor the color of my skin for the next 2 weeks, and try to expose me to as much daylight as possible.
I'm just glad that I don't have to go back to Dr. Kim's office for more tests!
Daddy snapped a few shots of me while I was taking an afternoon nap today. Check them out!

Today is my first scheduled visit. I had an unscheduled visit last week because of the Jaundice that was caught by Dr. Kim upon my hospital departure. Today, is my offical 2-week check-up. Of course I was excited! Because I get to go outside of the house again!
But what I didn't remember was that my doctor's appointment was in the morning. It means that I had to wake up early in the morning, which is totally not cool! The appointment was at 9am, but I was already awake by 6:30 because I wanted my breakfast. I didn't think Daddy was too happy about me waking up so early, but hey... "tough!"
Once I had my breakfast, Mommy and Daddy got changed, and very quickly, we were on our way to the Doctor's office, along with my Grandma. (Yeah, Grandma has been staying at our place for a few days to help out Mommy and Daddy.) We arrived at the doctor's office in about 10 minutes, and it didn't take long before the nurse yelled out my name again! Yes! I just like people calling my name. But from that point on... the rest of my morning just didn't go too well.
First, the nurse asked Daddy to take off all my clothes. Even though I pretended to be sleeping, I failed to avoid being undressed. Just like last time, I had nothing by my diaper on... and then I was butt naked when I was left on the scale. I came in at 8 pounds even! Yup! I've gained weight! Then Daddy took me back to the examination room, and we waited for Dr. Kim.
Dr. Kim walked in about 5 minutes later, and he immediately proceeded to checkout almost every bone in my body. He also told Daddy that my Jaundice still looks significant. Although not serious, Dr. Kim told Daddy that he would like to do a blood test to find out where the numbers stood.
"A blood test? What does that mean?" I thought.
Well I soon found out the answer after Dr. Kim left the room. The same nurse who took off my diaper came in and asked Daddy to hold me in his arm. She then grabbed my ankle, and used some kind of device to puncture my skin!
"wwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!" I screamed.
She took almost 5 drops of blood from me! Considering how tiny I am, I think that's a lot! Don't you think? It was so painful I could barely feel my foot!
After she was done with my blood, Mommy came over to hug me and told me that it's over! It was then when I started to have regain some sensation from my foot. I stopped crying soon after.
We went back home after the doctor's visit. Because of the trauma that I went through, I was exhausted, and I felt asleep in the car almost immediately. As I continued my sleep when I got home, Dr. Kim called Daddy to tell him that the test result was not that good. Dr. Kim told Daddy to change my diet from breastmilk to formula for 24 hours, and redo the test again tomorrow.
Well, when Daddy told me that I have to redo the test tomorrow, he should not have told me while he was changing my diaper! I was soooo scared that I have to redo the blood test again, I peed my pants. The only thing was... I didn't have pants, nor diaper on. And this is what happened. Ooops! (Click on the picture to enlarge.)
Anyway, for the rest of the day, I was fed baby formula. The good thing with baby formula is that Daddy gets to feed me too! Meanwhile, I am NOT looking forward to tomorrow's blood test again!
Below is a video taken at Dr. Kim's office today. It showed that I was being weighted, and my height measured. It is so embarassing that my entire naked body is being video taped, and now published on the internet!
Until next time, please tell me that the blood test will not be as painful as today's. :-(
It's been a week and it's time for Mommy to visit Dr. Chen again. It also means that I get the opportunity to go outside! However, I forgot that Doctor's visit usually means waking up early in the morning! I don't like being waken up. Instead, I prefer to wake up others. But this morning, Daddy didn't honor my preference and woke me up. After my diaper change and a quick breakfast (me only. Mommy and Daddy didn't have time to eat), I was fastened into my car seat and we were on our way to the Doctor.
I think by the second set of traffic light, I fell asleep already. From that point on, I was pretty much asleep for the most part of the trip. That's why I missed out on what Doctor Chen had to say to Mommy and Daddy. Luckily, Daddy later gave me an update and said Mommy's wound is healing very well. Dr. Chen also told Mommy that she can stop the antibiotics as soon as medication runs out. There shouldn't be anymore need for painkiller, unless Mommy's pain is unbearable. Otherwise, everything is a-o-kay!
Not that I remember a thing, but after we left the Doctor's office, Mommy and Daddy made a quick stop at Costco to pick up some pictures. Then Mommy and Daddy took me to this place called Target! It was my first time visiting Target! This place is so huge! Mommy and Daddy bought me some diapers and an outfit, and then we quickly left that place. Not that I don't like it, it's just that it was way past my lunch time! I was beginning to feel a bit cranky. It was worse when we walked pass Starbucks and Pizza Hut, and I couldn't have either one!
Anyway, we got home. I ate, and then Grandma and Grandpa (Tong) arrived! I haven't seen Grandma and Grandpa for almost a week now. Uncle Joseph (Mommy's younger brother) just got married over the weekend and Grandma and Grandpa were busy on making the final touch to the wedding party. I heard that the wedding party was great! I just wished that I could be there. Because both Grandmas told me that a lot of people were inquiring my whereabout. I bet they all want to take pictures with me too!
Grandma, Aunt Phoebe, and Uncle Chris made a visit today. Grandma and Aunt Phoebe made dinner for everyone. Although I couldn't taste it, it certainly smelled impressive! Uncle Chris really likes to hold me in his arm. I stayed in his arm for a very long long time today... until I pooped! That's when he handed me back to Daddy. It seems like no ones wants to be near me whenever they've learned that I have pooped! I don't know why. But pooping makes me feel comfy! And you all know how much I like feeling comfy!
Below is a video showing how I was waken up my Grandma. How mean!
Today I had my first doctor visit. It was an unscheduled visit because I had a bit of Juandice on the day that I checked-out of the hospital. Therefore, the doctor asked that I check back with him at his office in 1 week. Otherwise, the normal doctor visit would have been 2 weeks from birth.
Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor's office early in the morning. When we got there, I was half asleep because I didn't sleep much the night before. I don't know why, but I am just having a difficult time falling asleep during late night hours! Anyway, we waited for quite some time before the nurse yelled out my name... "Addison Chan!"
"Yeah, that's me!" Someone just yelled out my name!
Unfortunately, I didn't know that the first thing that they do was to take off all my clothes to check my weight. That nurse even told Daddy to take off my diaper!! OMG! That nurse is not even remotely good looking, and I had to sit in front of her... butt naked! It was so embarrassing!
I weighted at 7 lbs 2 oz! I gained a few ounces since I left the hospital! For those who didn't know, although my birth weight was 7lbs 11oz, I've lost almost a pound during those few days at the hospital. Before I checked out of the hospital, I weighted only 6lbs 12oz. So it's good to see that I have gained back some weight.
So after the embarrassing weight measurement, Daddy quickly put some clothes back onto me. I immediately felt calm and comfy. Thanks, Dad! Soon after that, Dr. Kim came into the examination room took me away from Daddy's arm. Dr. Kim handed Mommy some reading materials, and proceeded to check my skin color. Dr. Kim said I still have a bit of Juandice, but it was not at an alarming level. He told Mommy and Daddy to pay attention to my skin color in the next few days. He then turned me around, and checked various parts of my body. Dr. Kim seemed like a nice guy; that's why I didn't cry much.
After visiting Dr. Kim, we went back home for a short break before leaving for Mommy's Doctor. Yeah, although we just saw Dr. Chen yesterday, we had to visit him again because Mommy's wound was bleeding heavily last night. It was a rather panicky moment that Daddy had to call Dr. Chen at 3am last night to find out what to do. Fortunately, Dr. Chen told Daddy that the bleeding is normal, and arranged for a check-up today.
I felt asleep, again, at Dr. Chen's office so I didn't remember exactly what had happened. But Daddy later told me that Dr. Chen cleaned Mommy's wound all over again, and put some new bandage over the wound. Dr. Chen then showed Daddy how to cleam Mommy's wound, and that Daddy is supposed to clean the would twice a day from now on. Otherwise, Daddy said, "Everything is okay."
It has certainly been a long day for me because of the amount of time that I spent outside the house. Let's see if I will get some better sleep tonight.
Here's a picture of Daddy, taken right outside of Dr. Chen's office. Can't you tell that he didn't get much sleep lately?
Hello? How come no one is singing Happy Birthday to me? I'm officially 1 week old! Fine! How about a slice of cake? I thought there IS such a thing as a birthday cake in this world. No?
I accompanied Mommy to the Doctor today, to get her staples removed. Yeah, the same Doctor who yanked me out of Mommy's tummy just a week ago. He seemed like a nice guy. I just don't understant why he was so rough on me.
I was being a good boy all the way, and kept quiet at all time. I mean... Hello?... if this Doctor has the guts to put staples on my Mommy's belly, I'm sure he can do some harm to me if I am being naughty.
The pictures below with my hat on, are the ones that I was sitting at my car seat. The ones with the white dotted line is me sitting in my stroller. And finally, I'm all happy and calm after a day of outing.
Time flies! I can't believe I'm already a week older. Do I look more mature now? Do you think girls will start noticing me now?
Yeah, I'm still waking up every 3 hours or so throughout the day, and night. But I'm beginning to enjoy my new home! I guess life after Mommy's belly is not that bad afterall! I get my own bed here. Not just one, but two! One in Mommy and Daddy's room, and a bigger bed in my own room. Although in the past couple of days, Grandma has been sleeping in my room, which is a-o-kay!
Here are some pictures of what my first few days of life looks like.
Okay, I didn't know there is a place called 'Home' until Mommy and Daddy told me that I get to go home today! Wow, thank God! I thought I have to stuck in that plastic bassinet inside that tiny room forever! And those hospital blankets and clothes are just crappy! The shirt that I had on left my shouders exposed constantly! You all should know by now that I just don't like showing off too much skin.
Now, can't you tell that I am much more comfortable in this outfit above?
And once I'm calm and comfortable, I like to put on my thinking cap and start meditating.
Hmmm, when should I wet my diaper again? How many times should I wake up tonight?
As you can see, I have a lot to think, and to plan. Being an infant is not as easy as you all think! But the fact that I'm now at this comfortable place called Home, I am very happy about it! Although it would be nice if Mommy or Daddy spent some time to give me a tour of my room, instead of putting me into their room immediately.
Great Grandma and Grandpa are flying back to that place called Hong Kong this evening. They stopped by and visited me again before heading to the airport. Daddy told me that Great Grandma used to hold him just like that! How could it be possible? Daddy is so big, not to mention a bit chubby, how could he fit inside Great Grandma's arms like I did in this picture?
I continue to wake up every 2 hours or so... for not good reason, of course! Yeah, sometimes I was hungry, and that's why I screamed. But somtimes I was just plain moody! I still miss Mommy's tummy a lot! That's why I always stop crying whenever Mommy held me in her arms. It reminded me of the good times inside her tummy!
This is my Dad! Considering that he didn't sleep much last night, he still looks mighty handsome... from this angle. The rumor is that I'm going to grow up looking much better than he is! Although it's a tough task to fill... genetically, I already have an edge!
The reason why Daddy, and Mommy, didn't sleep last night was because of me! I didn't sleep last night! I don't know... I just didn't feel comfortable for being outside of Mommy's tummy for the first night. It was cold out here, but I doubt that those 2 knew. I was constantly hungry, but I didn't want to tell them. And those Nurses!!! Why couldn't they stop wheeling me out to their office to weight me... naked! Look people, I need rest! Not stress! Just leave me alone!
There have been way too many people visiting ME in one day! All of them wanted to hold me, and some wanted to kiss me... without conscent, of course! I'm getting sleepy now, and all I want now is to get some rest. I wonder if Mommy's tummy is still available!? It's much warmer and bouncier in there!
Anyway, here are some of the pictures that we took today. Until next time, please let me go get some sleep!
Of all the Grandmas that I have, this one must be really special! Because she has the word 'Great' in front of Grandma. I don't know what it means, but I'm sure that it takes a lot to earn that 'Great' title to be added in front of the word 'Grandma.'
This is the other Grandma and Grandpa. Daddy told me that there is another Grandma in a place called Hong Kong. She can't make it here because that Hong Kong place supposed to be far far away. I'm looking forward to taking a picture with her, so that I can add to my collection.
By the way, look at how happy this Grandma is when she's holding me! I'm telling you... I'm just special!
This is Grandma and Grandpa holding me. Just to give you an idea how special I am, they rushed to the hospital at 3am in the morning, as soon as they found out that I was born! Although, Daddy told me that this picture was taken later that day when they made a second trip to come see me!
Okay, that Nurse needs to behave! She had to know that I am butt naked, wrapped underneath that cheap blanket! What made she think that she could just unwrapped me, and left me totally naked in front of the camera!? If that's how she does things at home, that's her prerogative. But I'm still very much a shy little boy! And what's up with that yelling out loud my weight thing!? Does she like her weight to get yelled out loud in the public? I don't think so! These people, you know, really need to learn how to treat infants with some respect!
Wow! Finally! Those contractions in Mom's tummy really hurts! It kept squeezing me and squeezing me, forcing me to go nowhere, but downward. Hello? Don't they know that I am not ready to move yet? And when they found out that I have out-smart modern medication, they decided cut open my Mommy's belly and yank me out! How rude! It was freezing cold out there, and cozy and warm inside Mommy's belly. I don't understand why they want to pull me out so soon!?
Yup! That's my finger! I thought it would be fun to play a trick on the Doctors and Nurses by hiding my other 4 fingers, to make them think that I was born with only 1 middle finger. But the Doctors and Nurses seemed to be very offended when I played this trick on them. You know... they really need to chill! Otherwise, I'm going to tell Daddy how hard they were pulling my head when they were trying to yank me out of Mommy's tummy.
Anyway, this is my first post to this blog. Please let me take this opportunity to say 'Hello!' to everyone! And thanks for reading my blog.
