Today is the first day of Chinese New Year (of Ox). Also known as 大年初一. We woke up early this morning and immediately, we hurried to get ready to leave the house to Grandma’s house in Riverside to 拜年.
While I stole the show with cameras snapping non-stop, as usual, everyone kept telling me that I need to soon share my toys with… who again?
It will be the Year of Ox! May this year be a “bull run” year for Daddy, so that he can buy me more toys! May this year be full of joy for Mommy, like a laughing cow.
Today is Mommy’s birthday, and Daddy took a day off from work to spend the day with Mommy and I.
We started the day with my usual wake-up hours, followed by some breakfast fed by Daddy. Mommy got to sleep-in because… it’s her birthday! A bit later, when Mommy woke up, we immediately got dressed and headed out to lunch!
We had our lunch at this French Bakery in South Coast Plaza. Mommy ordered a crepes, while Daddy ordered a sandwich. Here are some pictures…
After lunch, we headed back to the store where Daddy bought Mommy's birthday gift. Daddy picked up all the wrong sizes, and Mommy had to exchange them all.
Afterwards, we walked around the shopping mall for a bit, and Daddy bought me a pair of Puma-Ferrari shoes! Not only they look good, they also look fast! Yes, I know today is not my birthday… but they were on sale!
Since we had an early dinner reservation, it didn’t take long before it was time to head to the restaurant. And Daddy picked Roy’s at Newport Beach to celebrate Mommy’s Birthday tonight. I’ve heard good reviews of Roy’s. But not until I tasted their dishes, I am convinced that Roy knows how to prepare a real seafood dish! Their food is so yummy! And the deserts were just too yummy to use any word to describe it! Check out these photos and put your imagination and taste buds in high gear!
To top off the evening, we even received a souvenir from Roy’s. A picture of Mommy, Daddy, and Myself! (Daddy thinks that I look like Aunt Zabrina (when she was young, many years ago) in this picture. What do you think?)
Those of you who are old like my Dad, or older than my Dad, I’m sure you have seen this commercial before.
And if you don’t know what’s the big deal about this commercial, then let me tell you that my Uncle Chris is featured in this commercial. And just in case you don’t recognize him, he appears in the 51st second into the commercial.
So when Daddy showed me this video, I asked Daddy: “What is Uncle Chris looking at? What’s on the other side of the fence?”
Daddy said: “I don’t know. I’ll ask him for you.”
Daddy called Uncle Chris in Hong Kong and asked: “Hey, my Son wants to know what’s on the other side of the fence when you shot your 維他奶 commercial.”
Uncle Chris: “Girls. Plenty of Girls.”
Daddy said: “Go back to sleep! You are not talking sense. Sorry to woke you up.”
Well, you should all know by now that I was at Aidan’s Birthday party yesterday. And during the party, something happened that told me that… Uncle Chris was not lying! When you’re so good looking, it’s not unusual to have girls standing on the other side of the fence looking at you! And if you don’t believe me, look at this video below, and pay attention to the left side of the screen!
That poor girl! She must have waited for a long time before she had the courage to approach me, or to even try to touch me. She was totally throwing herself at me… even thought there was a fence there. But her Mom just made the decision (for her) that her daughter is not good enough for me. I hope she didn’t cry too much last night. More importantly, I hope she will forgive her Mom for dragging her away from me. Anyway, although I don’t know who she is, but just in case she has found this web site, and has been secretly reading my blog, repeatedly, I just want to tell her… “Hi! It was nice seeing you!”
Oh, and Uncle Chris… I knew you were telling the truth!
I can’t believe that January of 2009 is not even over yet, and I have already attended my first party! It is a birthday party of Aidan, who is the son of my Mommy’s good friend, Judy. It’s his 3-year old birthday and his Mommy and Daddy threw him a party at Jump ‘n Jammin in Arcadia.
As you can see from the video below, this place is massive! And it is full of kids! Kids that are a bit older than me. It’s okay, because I don’t mind being the youngest in the crowd. But the thing is… they are allowed to run around everywhere, while I have to hold Mommy or Daddy’s hand most of time. Daddy told me that if I don’t hold him tight, these kids were going to ran me over. I dare them!
“I don’t recommend you go there if you have even a bit of a headache.” Daddy said.
Of course I disagreed with Daddy! Because there were so many things to do there. For example, you can see from the video below that I was doing slides…
Even if I was doing nothing particular, you can still see from this video below that I had fun playing with that giant cushion.
I was having so much fun that I almost forgotten that I was there to celebrate Aidan’s Birthday! So when it was time for food and cake, we headed off to a dining room inside this complex...
And yes, those are all Guests of Aidan. And if you don’t believe me, check out this video when everyone in the room sings Happy Birthday to him.
Yeah, he wasn’t that responsive by then because his parents thought that he was tired, and in need of a nap. But the fact was, I knew he just had too much to drink when he was sitting with those girls.
When most people were ready to leave the party after all the food and cake, Daddy wanted to try the big-boys-slide at least once before we leave. Here’s a video of it…
No, I didn’t like it. I prefer the Small-Boys-Slide for now.
Here are some pictures that we took from the party…
Hello, Folks! How was your Holiday? It’s been a while since I last posted to my blog, because I wanted to take a short break from blogging, so that I can enjoy all the cool toys that I received this past Christmas. Now that the holiday is over, it’s time for Daddy to get back to work, while I get back to my normal routine napping schedule.
Today, I want to show you a short video that Daddy took, showing me walking sideway, or “打橫行”(in Chinese.) According Mommy and Daddy, it’s not all that bad if one can “打橫行”in a company, at home, or even in a relationship. But Daddy said he only let me “打橫行”at home because he was video-taping me. Otherwise, Daddy said, I wil not be “打橫行-ing” all that much, especially when he’s around.
